Maryland dad Christopher Wright shared final eerie Facebook image before he was killed defending son

The tragic Maryland dad who was killed defending his son from bullies shared a now-eerie final Facebook post about how precious and fleeting life can be.

In his last post, uploaded May 5, Christopher Wright’s account featured a text image that read: “No matter how good or bad your life is, wake up each day and be thankful you still have one.”

The dad captioned the posting with a simple, “Just a thought.”

The image was posted just two weeks before Wright, 43, suffered fatal brain damage after three teenagers and two adults came to his Brooklyn Park home over a fight his 14-year-old son, Trenton, had with one of the kids involving a mere $30.

Chilling video from the confrontation shows Wright attempting to fight off the group before he’s slammed into the street and beaten, with his fiancée, Tracy Karopchinsky, saying the assailants pummeled the loving dad in place of Trenton.

Karopchinsky has since said Trenton feels guilty over the senseless violence that claimed his father’s life, the Baltimore Banner said.

Her cousin, Shannon Karopchinsky, 29, told The Post on Sunday, “When you lose someone, you always feel responsible.

“Part of me feels responsible, like I should have been home,” said Shannon, who lives across the street from the family. “I can’t imagine that being my dad.”

Tracy added Sunday that she wants justice over Wright’s death, as Anne Arundel Police have yet to make any arrests, now two weeks after the incident.

The police department did not respond to The Post’s request for comment Sunday.

A neighbor told The Post on Sunday that she was in her kitchen when she heard another younger son of Wright’s screaming, “Daddy!” as his assailants ran off, echoing shouts from at least one of the other kids who witnessed the brutal beating.

“That little kid’s scream is a scream that you’ll never forget,” the resident said of the youngest son. “It was ear-piercing, his scream was. It was awful.”

She bemoaned the tragedy that befell the family, describing Wright as a loving “Mr. Mom,” who would take care of his kids and the home while his fiancée toiled around the clock to keep them financially afloat.

“She worked two doubles, had a job five days a week, while he took care of the kids. He was a Mr. Mom so they could pay the mortgage. Now her world has been turned upside-down, because who is going to help with her kids?” the neighbor said.

She added that a group of residents came out after the fight to clean Wright’s blood from the streets so Karopchinsky wouldn’t have to see it when she got home.

The neighbor’s son also confirmed to The Post that the group who attacked Wright beat him because he was protecting his son.

“They came to fight his kid, but they said if his kid didn’t fight, then they were going to fight [him]. They could have beat [Wright], they didn’t have to slam on his neck or anything like that,” he said.
