on Wednesday stated that the widespread use of natural gas is a matter of high priority in her government's agenda, as this resource drives the economy and addresses the demands of the population in Peru's southern area.
"For our government, the widespread use of natural gas is a matter of high priority because it allows us to drive the national economy and address the demands of our population in the south, a project that had long been neglected," she said.
In this regard, the President pointed out that through this political decision, an important step is being taken "with the aim of improving the quality of life of our brothers and sisters in the south."
The Head of State specified that the signing of the agreement will allow the development of projects for the processing of natural gas and its transportation, as well as energy security, the dream of a fractionation plant in La Convencion province, and gas pipelines passing through Cusco, Apurimac, Puno, Arequipa, and Tacna regions.
"With effort and unity, we will make it happen. Under this agreement, we will coordinate efforts to make an economic, clean, and secure resource available to thousands of families, which will generate savings due to its low-cost energy," she stated.
In this regard, the top official explained that the widespread use of gas will no longer be "an unattainable dream" and will prevent "false leaders" from using this issue for their campaigns of demagogy and false hopes.
"Dear brothers and sisters of the south, we are prioritizing the unblocking of projects that have remained stalled for decades, either due to the negligence of previous administrations or acts of corruption," Mrs. Boluarte said.
"An unjust neglect that we are ending. We have taken the cry of the south as our own. The government does not stop; we continue working focused on boosting projects for the benefit of our compatriots. We respond to attacks with a smile, with projects, and with works," she added.
